1) Understand the use of a Silva compass.
2) Be able to determine distances by pacing and by timing.
3) Set up and demonstrate a three-legged compass walk.
4) Keep a record (including maps) of three expeditions in which a Silva compass was used.
5) Using a map and Silva compass, cover a course of at least 6 miles and involving three or more check-points.
